I'm just thankful to be living in a time when all these technological innovations exploded. In regards to Apple's lead in so many of these innovations I have to wonder, without Steve Jobs will we see other profound innovations from them - ever? And I can agree with your point that we may be over the curve of really game changing technologies, but perhaps the next Kickstarter project could prove us wrong? :) I also hear this network virtualization is still pretty awesome.

My comment would have been about how someone will prove you wrong soon but as I got to the end of the post I saw that you took care of the future. :-) Nice post though.

I think your article lacks a bit of vision. I notice at the end, you mention that you may be proven wrong (and display an image of Nikola Tesla's power transmitter). A true visionary finds useful inventions for things you and I don't even realise that we need. People like Tesla and Jobs.
