Great Post Chuck - It will be very interesting to see how IBM iterates future versions of their new platform and how vigorously they will regression test the platform. The greater number of components and variables leads to an almost infinite combination of possible configurations which in turn leads to an increasingly complex test plan over time to make sure the system still works as advertised.

It may work out of the gate but what will happen over time as components with different release cycles are introduced/updated? I wouldn't want to be on that testing team...

Outstanding analysis, this will genuinely help customers navigate the current storm of press releases and the clamoring for relevance I am seeing in the marketplace.

Thank you Chuck, of all the blogs I follow - yours breaks me out of routing and makes me really think. It helps me to help others and I appreciate it.

The video won't play on my side. It displays some greenish artifacts.
Google is also getting into Cloud Business. From my point of view, the more competitors, the better service and prices! And Google is very aggressive in almost any fields it enters.

General Housekeeping

  • Frequency of Updates
I try and write something new 1-2 times per week; less if I'm travelling, more if I'm in the office. Hopefully you'll find the frequency about right!
  • Comments and Feedback
All courteous comments welcome. TypePad occasionally puts comments into the spam folder, but I'll fish them out. Thanks!
