Jessica Pike

Hi Chuck,

My name's Jessica and I'm assistant editor at Qualityworld magazine. Qualityworld goes out to CQI’s 10,000 strong membership of quality professionals and stakeholders such as government, media and related bodies such as regulators and affiliated bodies. The breakdown of readership comprises both members of the CQI and 1,000 individual subscribers, both in the UK and globally.
Every month QW reports on business improvement techniques such as six sigma, business excellence, ISO 9000 and total quality management. It also offers in-depth coverage of contemporary business issues, making it essential reading for quality professionals who want to stay ahead of the competition.

You can read a sample issue here: http://www.thecqi.org/knowledge-hub/qualityworld/.

I am currently writing a feature on the Cloud and IT security, and was wondering whether you might be interested in contributing? I have already received input from Nicolas Harvey of software developers Red Folder and a contact at the British Standards Institution (BSI).

I'd be really interested in hearing your views on this topic and would be looking to ask the following questions:

- What are the security issues related to the cloud?
- How can cloud computing improve efficiency?
- One of the ways service providers are addressing security concerns is with a private cloud that operates behind a company’s existing firewall. How well does this work, in your experience?
- Cloud, for all intents and purposes, is a form of outsourcing. Are there any challenges involved here?
- Should a problem arise and the service become unavailable, how quickly can the provider get the service back up and running and how much information will have been lost?

If you are interested in contributing - it might be a short paragraph or up to 750 words - please don't hesitate to drop me an email.

Very many thanks,

General Housekeeping

  • Frequency of Updates
I try and write something new 1-2 times per week; less if I'm travelling, more if I'm in the office. Hopefully you'll find the frequency about right!
  • Comments and Feedback
All courteous comments welcome. TypePad occasionally puts comments into the spam folder, but I'll fish them out. Thanks!
