I'm on vacation this week -- no blogging, no twitter, etc. -- but I did manage to get around to checking my blog for any interesting comments.
And I happened to notice this.
Over a million lifetime page views.
Backed by 664 posts and close to 3,000 comments.
I don't know whether that's a comparatively good number or not, but it's pretty clear to me -- people are reading what I write.
If passion is your primary blogging motivation (as it is mine), that's pretty satisfying in itself.
My message to you?
If you're passionate about what you do, you should be blogging.
Blogging can do more for you than any classwork or degree. It can open doors you never knew existed.
And if you're not passionate about what you're doing, I'd suggest you find something that does get you excited, because that can make all the difference in your life.
This October, it'll be four years of blogging. Going back and reading my earlier stuff is painful, but I guess everyone has to start somewhere. I kept at it, and I got better in the process.
To be a successful blogger, you'll need to be prepared to put time and effort into it. You'll also need to develop an especially thick skin. Rudeness and crass behavior knows no boundaries in the blogosphere, especially if you take on controversial topics.
But having a thick skin helps in other pursuits as well :-)
If you're reading this -- and you've been following me for a while -- I wanted to say "thank you". I hope I've been able to occasionally enlighten, educate and entertain you.
Maybe even inspire you.
Here's to another four years and another million page views ...
First of all, let me start by saying - Props on breaking a million! That was the first thing I noticed when I read that (even before looking at the text and focusing solely on the picture!)
You keep it going strong here, with regularly good content fairly consistently. Some times life and other things can get in the way of the blogging so it's nice to see you stick it out and continue (getting better a long the way)
I'd be curious to see how that chart looks on a monthly or longer basis, especially in light of the massively successful iPad post you had not too long ago; and what some of your more successful posts have been over that time.
It's always good to see when something works and is done well, the continued success which can be built upon that.
As always, look forward to more transparent and real content out of you!

Kudos on the million pageviews!
You truly do inspire this young blogger. I couldn't agree more on the passion and how blogging lets you learn.
Keep the posts coming.

Truly a great achievement Chuck. The volume of blogs you generate is amazing and most of them with quality content too. Keep going.
