I'm starting to get a lot of interest in these topics, as well as this blog in general.
I don't want to disappoint people, so I thought it might be time for a general purpose disclaimer.
This Is My Personal Blog
It doesn't reflect the official position of EMC. No content is reviewed or approved by EMC in advance. I use EMC as an example of the principles I'm encouraging, nothing more.
And, obviously, it's only one person's view.
This Is A Part Time Gig
I do lots of stuff for EMC, including this. I spend maybe 10-20% of my time on our social media initiatives, thanks to a capable team who's doing all the really hard work.
This means I can't put a lot of time into helping people outside of our company.
I Am Not An Expert
I do not have a book to sell, seminar to teach, or a five-step methodology for success.
I am writing this blog simply because I believe that there are few (if any) experts on these topics out there, and I want to increase the general knowledge pool of the industry.
I thought by simply writing about my experiences, I could accomplish this.
But, if there are any people thinking about consulting in this area, I can vouch for the fact it's a very hot topic right now ...
Your Mileage May Vary
We are in a very unique situation here in a number of regards: the company, our culture, my participation, other people involved, etc.
Some, all or none of this may be repeatable by others. I don't spend much time thinking about other people's situations; I spend most of my time thinking (and writing) about our situation.
There, I Feel Much Better
Just wanted to clear up a few potential misconceptions.
Thanks for listening!
